What are the driver’s age requirements?
The minimum age is 23 years. The driver must have a license with at least 1 year of experience. Drivers aged 21–23 may rent a car, but in case of an accident at their fault, they must pay 15% of the insurance compensation.
Is insurance included in the rental price?
Yes, standard insurance is included. In case of an accident caused by the renter, a deductible of AED 1,500 applies. Full coverage insurance is available to waive the deductible.
Can I add a second driver?
Yes, a second driver can be added for AED 100.
Is smoking allowed in the vehicle?
No, smoking inside the car is strictly prohibited. A violation incurs a AED 1,000 fine.
Can I drive the rental car outside the UAE?
No, cross-border travel is not allowed under the insurance policy.
How are road tolls (Salik) charged?
Salik is tracked automatically. The total amount is added to the rental bill.
How do I pay for parking in Dubai?
Via parking machines or by SMS: send A12345 312A 2 to 7275.
What should I do in case of an accident?
Call the police and obtain a report. Install the Dubai Police app.
Dubai Barrierless Parking?
Some malls are connected to the Salik system — parking fees are automatically deducted.
How it works:
1. ANPR cameras capture your license plate upon entry and exit.
2. If the free parking time is exceeded, the amount is automatically deducted from your Salik balance.
3. The amount is added to your invoice for final settlement.

Free parking: 3 hours on weekdays, 4 hours on weekends.
